About the Didgeridoo

The Didgeridoo (didjeridoo) is an ancient instrument used in ceremonials of the Australian Aborigines. Originally, the didgeridoo is a hollow Eucalyptus stem or branch and it has a single tone but its low deep pitch is of therapeutic and relaxing influence. Playing the didgeridoo requires circular breathing - a special technique to keep constant air exhale. For the Aboriginals the didgeridoo is a part of special ceremonies and is accompanied by singing and dancing. In the western world it is several years now that influences from the East brought to the development of new trends in music based on the didgeridoo and circular breathing. The didgeridoo (didj) is used in therapy and meditation. Playing the didgeridoo encourages insight and self awareness.
